Samenvatting

The author of this article was one of the contributors to the special issue of TNTL published in 2004 about the contemporary state of the ‘neerlandistiek’ (Dutch Literary Studies). He summarises the previous conclusions, examines recent developments, such as the current eclecticism in the field of research in modern Dutch literature, and he proposes some first drafts of possible future research about the status and position of Dutch literature in the modern and postmodern era.
